The chart is a rough guide to shapes and sizes. These fish are made from reclaimed pine, Douglas fir and various hardwoods found locally in skips, furniture, or using my own offcuts from larger work. These hybrid fish, piscus articulare,have evolved through consideration of the forms and shapes of fish generally, and the proportions of found sawn timber . Prices vary according to fatness, timber type, finish, and intermediate sizes. They are available in natural, or scaled with irridescant colour finish..

Rocking Chickens. Reclaimed timber
These are made from found logs and branches, mostly local. I carve away
as little as possible to produce a fat broody hen with great character and
humour. They are oven cooked to encourage more even shrinkage and will
often have natural cracks and fissures. They range in size from lemon to
watermelon ( see chart below ). If the timber has an interesting grain I
will usually enhance it . Timbers with less contrasty grain might get a
hammered, speckled or 'feathery' finish and will affect the final price. I
would suggest you give me an idea of how much you want to spend in total.
Postage is by Interlink or Special Delivery and is £15, £10, £5,
£3.50 and £2.50 relating to the sizes below.
